Delete Account?

We're sorry to see you go. Deleting your account is immediate and can't be undone.

Before you continue:

  • Your profile, connections, community memberships, stories and streaks are deleted straight away.
  • Messages you sent stay in other people's chats, without your profile.
  • Deleting your account doesn't cancel InterChat Plus. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings first.

Email Address

Enter your InterChat email to request account deletion. You'll receive a verification code.

Verify Deletion Request

Enter the verification code sent to your email address.

You can delete your InterChat account at any time. This page explains how, and what happens to your information.

In the app (quickest)

  1. Open InterChat and go to Profile → Settings.
  2. Tap Account → Delete account.
  3. Read the summary, confirm with your password (or the code we email you if you signed in with Google, Facebook or Apple), and tap Delete account.

If you no longer have the app or can't sign in:

  1. Enter the email address on your account in the form above and tap Request Deletion.
  2. We'll email you a 6-digit code.
  3. Enter the code and tap Confirm Deletion.

If you no longer have access to that email address, contact support@interchathq.com.

Before you delete

  • InterChat Plus: deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel it first in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
  • Communities you lead: another admin takes over, and the community continues. If you're the only admin, a member will be made admin.
  • Want a copy of your information? Email privacy@interchathq.com before deleting.

What gets deleted

Deletion is immediate. There's no waiting period, and it can't be undone.

Information What happens
Your account, profile, username, photo, bio and links Deleted straight away
Your connections, community memberships, stories and streaks Deleted straight away
Your devices and notification tokens Deleted, and you're signed out everywhere
Your prayer requests and comments Deleted
Messages you sent to others Stay in their chats, shown without your profile, as they would in any messaging app
Everything else linked to you Deleted, apart from the records listed below

What we may keep, and why:

  • Records needed for safety and legal reasons, such as reports about your account or a record of a ban, for as long as needed to keep the community safe and meet our legal duties.
  • Subscription and payment records the law requires us to keep.
  • Copies in backups, which are overwritten on a rolling basis.
