Voice and video calls

You can start a voice or video call directly from a chat with someone on InterChat.

Calls are connected through our calling provider and need a working internet connection — they'll use mobile data if you're not on Wi-Fi, so it's worth being mindful of your data plan for longer calls. See Using less data if that's a concern.

Calls aren't recorded by InterChat. The same privacy care that applies to Prayer Rooms applies here.

Important: InterChat isn't a replacement for a phone service, and it can't be used to call emergency services. If you or someone else needs urgent help, contact your local emergency services directly.

Your call history (who called whom, when, and how long) is kept until you delete your account — see our Privacy Policy for the detail.
