A story is a text, photo or video update that's visible to others for a limited time, rather than staying in your profile permanently.
Who can see it is controlled by your story privacy settings, the same place you manage who sees your profile photo, bio and last-seen status. You choose the audience when you post, or ahead of time in your settings.
How long it lasts. A story is visible for 24 hours, then it's automatically removed from view. You can delete a story yourself before then, if you'd rather take it down early.
Viewers. You can see a list of who has viewed your story, and anyone who views a story can react or reply to it.
Posting a story is a good way to share a testimony, an encouragement, or a moment from your day with the people who follow you, without it needing to be a permanent post.
