If a call or Prayer Room doesn't ring with a full-screen alert the way you'd expect, it's usually a phone setting rather than a problem with InterChat.
On Android 14 and later: make sure you've allowed Full-screen notifications for InterChat in your phone's settings. Android introduced this as a separate permission from regular notifications.
On some phones — including Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi and Oppo — the manufacturer adds its own extra settings on top of Android's. Also check and allow, for InterChat, in your phone's settings:
- Show on lock screen
- Pop-up windows (sometimes called "pop-up view" or similar)
These phones are more aggressive about restricting background apps by default, so InterChat needs explicit permission to interrupt the lock screen the way a phone call normally would.
Also check Settings → Notifications → Prayer Rooms in the app, and that the community isn't muted.
